Enyonam Nanevie
Board Member

Enyonam Nanevie is the founder and president of Building Community Bridges, Inc. An organization dedicated to raising the quality of life in rural villages in West Africa. Ms. Nanevie has attended Long Island and Fordham University. Ms. Nanevie has been active in the African community, both continental and Diasporan for over 12 years, beginning her activism in 1997 as community and tenant organizer in Harlem. In this capacity she worked with the African immigrant population in Harlem to address their quality of life issues. Ms. Nanevie has previously served as a board member of United African Congress. In this capacity, she was a vocal activist on behalf of the African community in Harlem, especially fighting for the rights of the African street vendors and the African Market. As part of UAC she was involved in helping to bring about changes in police sensitivity training in the NYPD as part of the demands of the African community after the shooting of Amadou Diallo. Ms. Nanevie continues to work on numerous issues regarding the quality of life of Africans here and on the continent, seeking always to bring to light the issues that impact our communities.
